Lactoferrin is a glycoprotein that was discovered and isolated in 1939 in cow's milk by two Danish chemists, spouses Peter Lauritz Sørensen and Margrethe Høyrup Sørensen. The name that has been attributed to it refers precisely to the fact that it is found in milk and also to its ability to bind and transport iron. It is present in the breast milk of all mammals and therefore also in the human one: colostrum, the first milk produced 4-5 days after birth, contains the highest concentration. It therefore accompanies newborns who are breastfed from the first days of life, protecting them.
However, it is also important for the well-being of adults: saliva, tears, secretions from the mucous membranes of the nose and bronchi and white blood cells, some of the cells that deal with our immune defenses, contain it.
To support the body's well-being, at times when our balance is most challenged, Erbamea offers this new supplement which contains 200 mg of natural lactoferrin extracted from cow's milk in each vegetable capsule. The formula is completed by the addition of a dry Rosehip extract, which provides Vitamin C, which contributes to the normal function of the immune system.
