Plant origin
We have always strived to enhance the remarkable properties of plants; our cosmetics are formulated using plant-based raw materials and are therefore naturally renewable: plant extracts, oils, butters and waxes, primarily of organic origin.
We carefully select plant-based emulsifiers and surfactants (from oats, barley, rice, etc.), favouring those obtained through green chemistry, as well as plant-derived thickeners and gelling agents (from cellulose, algae, guar gum, etc.).
In our laboratories, we mainly use the same preservatives employed by the food industry (e.g. sodium benzoate or potassium sorbate).
When selecting raw materials, we adopt strict criteria that take into account ingredient safety and environmental impact. For this reason, we choose only GMO-free ingredients and refrain from using substances such as parabens, sulphate surfactants, microplastics and nanoparticles. In addition, for our Sun Care products we exclude octinoxate and oxybenzone, which are banned by the Hawaii Coral Treaty because they are considered responsible for coral bleaching.
Quality control
Once the formula has been developed, it undergoes rigorous quality control: here, we conduct microbiological tests and physico-chemical analyses to monitor the presence of heavy metals, ensure product stability and therefore safety.
In the production department, we maintain the same level of care and meticulousness, but on a much larger scale.
Our high-performance machinery with capacities of 3,000, 5,000 or 12,000 kg simply helps us to reproduce on a large scale the operations that our researchers carry out on 1 kg of product at the laboratory bench.
Technology therefore becomes an indispensable ally in ensuring consistently high and repeatable quality standards.
