In Europe, it is considered the number one variety of rose. Rosa gallica officinalis, with its distinctive fragrance and slightly ruffled petals, was the first rose used for producing essences and perfumes. Indeed, evidence suggests that Gallic rose was cultivated as far back as the ancient Roman and Greek empires. Our Laboratories have used vegetable glycerine to extract an essence from the flowers of this plant that moisturising and toning properties, as well as an aromatic water that softens and refreshes the skin.
