The mysterious charm of Wormwood
Wormwood
LATIN NAME: Artemisia absinthium
PROPERTIES: anti-ageing and toning
The earliest known instance of the hieroglyphic symbol for Wormwood is believed to be an Egyptian papyrus from 1600 BC. Thanks to its excellent therapeutic properties, it quickly became popular, peaking in the late 19th century when it was the liqueur of choice for poets and artists during the Belle Époque period. We use three Artemisia species in our cosmetics: Artemisia absinthium (wormwood) extract, which has remarkable moisturising and toning properties; Artemisia dracunculus (tarragon), which has extraordinary astringent and firming properties; and Artemisia glacialis (glacier wormwood), which keeps skin toned and elastic.
