PROPERTIES: protective and moisturising
The origins of the Iris can be traced back to the dawn of time: from as early as the 15th century BC, the ancient Egyptians were captivated by its beauty and its rhizomes were used in medicine, perfumery, and witchcraft. This plant can grow up to two metres tall. It has long, unusual, sword-like leaves and very fragrant flowers that range in colour from purple-blue to white, yellow and red. Our Laboratories have extracted two marvellous functional ingredients from the Italian variety, Iris florentina (Giaggiolo) – the fluid extract of Iris and distilled water of Iris – which have a balanced protective, moisturising and softening effect on the skin.
